Mint (Mentha species) There are also many delicious soup and dessert recipes that call for this gloriously fragrant herb. It is a perennial and consists of stalks with bright green, saw-toothed leaves. It can grow to 2 feet in height, but if you harvest the leaves frequently and pinch off the tops, you will encourage it to stay low and bushy.
