Frequently Asked Questions
What does "100% Pure Goat Milk" mean? You need to be very careful when buying soap that is labled as "goat milk soap" because there are a lot of goat milk soaps being sold that have virtuallly no milk in them at all. Almost all goat milk-based soaps will dilute their goat milk by adding water. By diluting their goat milk, those merchants reduce many of the benefits of goat milk soap.
We use 100% pure goat milk, straight from our own goats, in our soap. We guarantee that it has all of the benefits of the soap, including leaving your skin soft and moisturized naturally.
| | | What makes goat milk soap better than soap I can buy at the store? Goat milk contains a natural alpha hydroxy acid which gently exfoliates your skin. We use a "cold process" method in making our soaps which allows the naturally occurring glycerin to remain in the soap. Soap that you buy at your local store has extracted all the glycerin from their finished product. This causes their soaps to be drying. Our soap, with all the glycerin, will be much more moisturizing to your skin. |
I know that your soaps are made with lye. Isn't that harmful to use on our skin? No. By the time you are able to use our soap there is no lye remaining. When the lye combines with the oils, the lye changes properties and becomes glycerin. Glycerin is one of the best substances known to man to help make our skin soft.
I've noticed that from time to time that you run out of soap. It seems that it takes a considerable amount of time before that specific soap is available again. Why is that? We use a "cold process" in creating our soaps. There is a 4 week cure time (or drying time) that is necessary for our soaps to go through. By allowing the soap to dry completely, the soap will last much longer.
What is the best way for me to take care of my soap? We highly recommend that you use our soap savers wherever you place your soaps. The soap saver allows water to drain out and away from your soap and the little "bumps" on the saver allow air to flow around the soap helping it to dry. By keeping the soap dry you are actually prolonging the life of your soap.
I've read that it is actually better to remove soap from its original packaging and store it on a shelf until it is used. Is this true for your soaps? Yes. By taking the soap out of the box you are allowing more air to circulate around the soap. When air is allowed to circulate around the soap, it becomes harder. The harder the soap becomes, the longer it will last when it finally makes it into your shower or onto your sink. However, it does not hurt the soap to leave it in the box if you want to.
