SquareTrade © AP6.0Contemporary Zuni Handmade Bolo in Sterling and Relief Stone Inlay
Beautiful, tooled sterling and raised inlay bolo depicting a Zuni Knifewing Deity in relief using turquoise, jet, coral and two colors of mother of pearl on a jet field. The artist is Beverly Etsate, a respected Zuni inlay artist. 2 1/4" long, and signed on the clutch release back.
The Knifewing is a deity that suggests victory in conflict -- Zunis are notoriously silent regarding the salient parts of their religious beliefs, and years ago, in Zuni, when asking about this spirit in particular, had the subject changed three times before I got the hint! Sometimes it pays to keep your ears open and your mouth closed!
This tie is set upon a 36" recycled leather strap with handmade sterling cone/bead tips. Longer straps are available upon request.
Unusual, great color, detailed setting -- a really interesting bolo.
