The ski powers into big turns with assertive edge grip, then exits with jet-propelled energy. This is really a GS carver in freeride clothing — a solid all-terrain ski that really excels when executing big-assed turns. “A skier must be in good shape to ride these skis,” wrote one tester. SKINET.COM: Testers have come to expect more from Atomic in this category, but less is better. The Blackeye has power, heft and stability, but it’s less demanding - not to mention far less heavy - than recent Atomics. The Blackeye is similar to the Nomad Crimson Ti (AME Freeride), but in a narrower width and with no metal. Unflappable stability remains its greatest strength, but never at the expense of general ease. “Light, quick and still plenty stable,” said Schoff.
Skiing Mag: said. "The Black Eye will be the most useful Atomic for a broad range of experts. It’s damp and powerful, but never lifeless or unruly. It loves high-speed arcing but puts up impressive scores for rebound energy.".
