Confederation Northern City-States

The Confederation Northern City-states (CNCS for short) is a loose association of the three main leagues lacated in the northern hemisphere: the Northern Lights Confederacy, the United Mercantile Federation, and the Western Frontier Protectorate.  The CNCS also includes a few independent City-States.

The CNCS's role is to provide protection and a common forum to discuss trade and foreign policy.  Internal policy protection and a common forum to discuss trade and foreign policy.  Internal policy and municipal policy is not within the league's mandate.  The Confederation's diplomatic branch maintains embassies in each og the four southern capitals and consuulates in most majour southern or Badlands city-state.  The league-members cooperate on many levels, incliding trade and technoilogical development.  Nevertheless, beneath the apparent unity of Confederattion lies deep mistrust that sometimes leads to squabbles and skirmishes, especially along borders and unaffiliated Badlands Territories.

The CNCS is protected by the Northern Guard, a combination of military contributions from the three CNCS leagues.  It was founded to oppose the Allied Southern Territories' Southern MILICIA.  While it is less impressive in numbers than it's counterpart, the Northern Guard is composed of generally better-trained soldiers and officers.
