The Orion spacecraft (aka Crew Exploration Vehicle) is being designed as a manned spacecraft and will go into service after the Space Shuttle is retired in 2010. Orion is currently under development at Lockheed Martin Astronautics in Denver, the Johnson Space Center in Houston, and NASA’s Michoud Assembly Facility in New Orleans.
